Ripple - Finished Quilt

Ripple
It seems this summer has just flown by, I can't believe we're already in the middle of September. I'm in the middle of another hand quilting project, so I haven't had a lot to share.

I did finish my Stitchcraft Challenge entry over two weeks ago, and just uploaded the pictures to my computer today

I ended up quilting two more spirals, and I named the quilt Ripple. I really like how the spirals came together and overlapped.

I'm also very pleased with how much I was able to transform (disguise) the challenge fabric.

I pieced the back with strips of Kona solids and Essex linen.

I did have a few puckers on the back, but nothing too noticeable.

And one final picture, or a very happy quilt holder...

I'm looking forward to seeing what everyone else made later this month!

Happy Sunday!

  1. Love what you did with that fabric!! I definitely would not buy it but your quilt is great! Your spiral quilting looks awesome!

Your happy quilt holder pic is too funny :) You just know those are the faces those happy quilt holders make when the quilt is covering their face. LOL

  5. Oh, I love the last photo! Ripple is a great name for the quilt, and I really like how the quilting interacts not just with the different spirals but with the quilt front pattern, too! Congratulations on the finish - it is fantastic!

  7. That's his happy face? Oh well, he looks happier than my husband would in his place.
I had forgotten all about the challenge fabric. You really did transform it!

  8. Love the extra spirals! It came out so great. I like some of the COllage line fabrics but like the one you used, I wouldn't know what to do with it. It would be good for fussy cutting but I don't really do much of that so it seems like an awkard piece to use. You used it well!!
